Abortion and the Politics of Pregnancy

In 1973 and in 2022, the United States found itself in the midst of outrage and protest on one side and joy and fanfare on the other. The difference between then and now: the emotions have switched sides. Those who found themselves angered after the verdict of Roe v. Wade now found themselves rejoicing after the verdict of Hobbs v. Jackson.
Our country is facing a difficult journey in the months and years ahead as the fallout of the overturning of Roe v. Wade comes into focus. We see protests involving Pro-choice believers against Pro-life believers. We see political maneuvers as the blue states scramble to hold on to the freedoms that they see being taken away while the red states scramble to close up any gaps that can be used to allow the act of abortion to take place within their borders.
Will the verdict of Hobbs v. Jackson lead us to a new understanding of the sanctity of human life from the point of conception? Or will it simply open the door for greater numbers of unsafe back-alley, coat-hanger abortions?
In order to know where we are going, it is first necessary to know where we've been. In this book, you will learn the history of abortion in America and the world and travel the road that brought us to where we are today.
